Background of the Study

Small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA face significant financial challenges, including limited access to funding, fluctuating income, and rising operational costs. One key tool for addressing these challenges is effective budgeting. A well-prepared budget allows businesses to plan for expenses, allocate resources efficiently, and make informed financial decisions. However, many small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA fail to implement robust budgeting practices, leading to poor financial management and, in some cases, business failure. Research Hypotheses

1. H₀: There is no significant relationship between budgeting practices and the financial performance of small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA.

2. H₀: Implementing budgeting practices does not significantly improve the profitability and sustainability of small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA.

3. H₀: Budgeting practices do not have a significant effect on the cost management and financial stability of small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA.

Significance of the Study

This study will provide insights into the importance of budgeting for the financial performance of small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA. The findings will offer recommendations for business owners on how to implement and improve budgeting practices to ensure long-term business success and financial stability.

This study will focus on small-scale businesses in Wamakko LGA, particularly those in the retail, manufacturing, and service sectors. Limitations include challenges in obtaining accurate financial data from small businesses and potential biases in self-reported data.
